Dental Microscope
Some wonderful advances in the medical profession have also spread to periodontics. One of these is the microscope. Improved visualization of microsurgical incisions and suturing, with 6-0 to 8-0 sutures allows more precise tissue approximation for better wound healing and aaesthetics. It is especially helpful with subepithelial placements and suturing of papilla, connective tissue grafts, and membranes.
The microscope allows improved visualization of implant sites with minimal space between teeth. It also aids in the exact fit of implant components, as well as the health of marginal tissue around implants. The microscope also helps with the restoration of marginal tissue and periodontic restorative relationships.
In addition, the microscope helps in the diagnosis of root fracture and/or abnormalities, as well as more accurate root amputations. Sinus membrane visualization during elevation for maxillary implants, and the location of the periodontic ligament for atramatic elevation of roots and root tips during extraction with concurrent ridge preservation/augmentation is more effective with the microscope.
With the high-resolution video and 35 mm. photography, patient education and enhanced professional training are possible. Both you and your patients will appreciate this new technology's immediacy and accuracy.
